Our story
First and foremost we’re a team of scientists and engineers. Our carbon scientists do the research and development and handle delivery. Our software engineers build the product, the architecture and the proprietary AI, and guarantee scalability and customer success.
The leadership team is made up of Leonardo Romanelli as CEO, an entrepreneur on a mission to accelerate the transition to a low-emission economy, and Alessandro Marson, PhD, a researcher in life cycle assessment (LCA) and author of over 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Behind the methodological choices sits a technical-scientific committee led by professors from the Department of Engineering at the University of Padua.

Bluegreen’s Scientific Committee is made up of professors from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Padua. It isn’t an endorsement: it’s the architecture of our method. Every methodological choice, from the emission factor databases to uncertainty management, from prospective LCA to reduction matrices, is validated by the experts of the field.
Alessandro Manzardo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (ICEA) at the University of Padua, where he conducts research and teaches in the fields of environmental engineering and sustainability. He is also the scientific director of CESQA — the Center for Quality and Environmental Studies and, since 2024, has served as director of the Master’s Program in Strategic Environmental Management, founded in 2002 by Professor Antonio Scipioni.
From research
to enterprise.
Spinlife was founded in 2017 by a group of professors and researchers from the Center for Environmental Quality Studies (CESQA) at the University of Padua’s School of Engineering — a group that has been active for over 30 years in developing solutions for innovation and sustainability in public and private organisations. In 2023, Bluegreen was launched to digitise that expertise, make it scalable, and integrate it into organisations as a permanent infrastructure.
